something very strange as happened today, all chickens layed this morning but this evening one went into the coop early, a while later she came running out with the remains of a soft egg and the other 2 chickens and herself were getting hold of it and eating it, I was led to belive that they only layed once a day so how has she managed to lay twice?  she has only been laying a couple of weeks so could it be as she is new to it

They can rarely pop another out we had 4 once from 3 birds, it's probably her system settling down. Don't worry but keep an eye on the egg eating!

take an egg and open it into a saucer mix pepper with the yolk and let her have it if she continues to break and eat them .chilli powder also works

it was the way she came running out the coop with it, looked as though she was trying to get rid of it not eat it,  the other two pinched it and did the eating, pinching it and running off with it,
