Is it too late to sow leeks from seed?
Somehow  forgot to sew them!

I sowed the round about this time of year last year & they only made what you'd call "baby" leeks, but at least it was better than nothing.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Go for it - they'll be like spring onions, but if you have room to spare, then why not!

I've seen a few people and shops selling leek seedlings if you're dead keen on getting the big ones - but not sure the cost is really worth it!

Ask your plot neighbours in case they have any thinnings - further on than sowing now.

Incidentally - when is it time to plant those seedlings out to the bed? They never do get to pencil thickness, but am I too early?

Add your location to your profile so we know where you are.. I have a lot of leeks ready to be planted out and not a lot of space.. was hoping to put them in after the early potatos but they are quite thick and need to be planted outside deeper already!

If your near me you can have some!

ALWAYS a good idea, my plot neighbour (Old Len) grows enough leek seedlings for the whole site, he just says to me dig up what you want.....  mind you I always grow my own as I just like doing it, sow my seed about the end of February direct.....
