urgent help needed please

I have just spent about an hour boiling hawthorns to make some ketchup.  All ready, lovely but when I went to seive the puree through to the sugar I noticed they have stones.  Begining a complete novice at foraging and with no mention of stones inthe receipe, I am now panicing - have I picked the right berries?? Loath to carry on without knowing.  Thanks

Over cooked it I suspect 

Just as an aside, I find that hawthorn berries taste better by about mid October when the insides are much more yellow.
