Title: Where can I buy frozen gooseberries?
Post by: cheshirecheese on November 16, 2010, 12:53
Does anyone know where I might find some frozen gooseberries?  Obviously there aren't any fresh around at the moment, but all I can find is the tinned ones.  I found a website with a link to regional farmshops which suggested they might be a source, but the only ones in my area don't seem to do much fruit (which is strange, given that there are plenty of fruit farms about!).  ???

Don't know where you are, but if in Cheshire you might try Booths in Knutsford to see if they sell loose frozen fruit like the Windermere one does. Our local farm shop sells loose fruit too but don't know what(Hawarden) and, also Rhug Farm shop, Corwen.  May be worth a call.

Many thanks for that ... unfortunately, despite my ID, I don't live in Cheshire any more (sadly left about thirty years ago!).  However, your suggestion of trying the smaller local supermarkets (as I seem to remember Booths is) sounds like an idea, so I'll give it a go.  :)
