absolutely delicious tomatoes!
« on: July 25, 2010, 20:46 »
I've just posted some "help, everything's dying" questions, so also wanted to share a success... my tomatoes!  I've got seemingly hundreds of big, fat, green tomatoes, but none ripe... till today!  I poked around and two fully ripe ones came off in my hand.  They were so delicious, they didn't make it as far as the kitchen to go with my sandwich for lunch :-)

Great feeling isn't it?  The taste bears no comparison to anything you can buy. :)
Cheese makes everything better.

Lucky you mollyblob mine in the greenhouse are still stubbornly green. What variety are these delicious tomatoes?

They're Maskotka- they're a trailing variety of cherry tomatoes that I'm growing in hanging baskets.  Though I seem to have 3 little bushes and only one actually trailing... never mind if they're all going to taste so delicious!  They were so sweet, mmmm! :-)

My two tomatoes feels a bit pathetic next to that huge basketful, but I'm still proud!

They were last years very tiny tomatoes - "Bambino" but oh so very sweet.
