debris netting
« on: December 07, 2016, 18:43 »

            Evening All

I will need to buy some new debris netting before the spring, and was wondering
if anyone could recommend any. The last lot I bought looked ok online but turned
out to be very flimsy. Any advice will be warmly received.
keep on digging

There are BS standards for proper scaffolder's debris netting, to stop damage from falling objects, so I'm surprised yours was flimsy. It is soft/pliable but strong once put over a frame or hoops and weighted down.

I just get the cheapest, for the size I need, from ebay.

As a matter of interest what do you use the debris netting for. I've often wondered if it would be any use to cover brassicas but thought it may shade them too much.

I use it to cover brassicas as it keeps the cabbage white butterfly off.
I don't find the shading a problem, in fact brassicas don't like it too hot as it can make them bolt.
Cool and moist.

Thanks for the reply. Would you think Blackfriars and raspberries would cope and fruit well under it.

Use mine to cover my Brussels Sprouts.
Not noticed its shady, as plenty of light gets through.
Keeps plenty off, but also for the sprouts, they stay more upright in the wind covered with the sides help keeping them upright.
