Hi

I have 2 clematis sieboldii which I plan to put into a pot and grow up some kind of structure (to be purchased soon!)
Do you think they will be Ok in the same pot? If so what size pot do you think I will need for the two plants?

Clematis sieboldii is not so vigorous as some so should be fine in a pot.
Not sure why you would want to plant two in one pot? One would grow 6 -10ft tall and 2 -3ft accross.
I would go for a decent size pot like 18in and quite deep too  - plenty of room for roots.
Make sure the pot has good drainage ( crocks or gravel in the base ) I would use John Innes compost.

It would do best in the typical clematis situation with roots shaded and top in the sun - in containers roots can be cooked.

C Sieboldii is not as hardy as most so pot may need to be moved somewhere sheltered in winter

Hmm I thought it was going to be a small clematis too!
Celjaci I was going to plant two in a pot because I have two and I thought they were smallish, and being frugal would have preferred to buy only one pot.
Looks like I will have to reconsider - maybe even think about giving one away.
Thanks for your replies, will go off in search of an 18'' pot or maybe two.
