Title: Fitting new cover to an existing polytunnel
Post by: AlaninCarlisle on December 29, 2018, 14:16
Does anyone know of a supply and fit service that covers Cumbria? I have a 20ft x 15ft x 7ft 6" tunnel that needs a new cover fitting, a job that I don't feel up to tackling myself

A strange situation. After talking to a few polytunnel suppliers, it seems that although many of the suppliers are based in the North of England, by far the majority of free-lance fitters of coverings are based in the South

Is it worth investigating any local plant nurseries or pick your own farms where they use tunnels?  You could discreetly ask and see if any of the staff are up for a private job.

Eventually found a local Handyman who is going to do it with me next month. I'll probably dig the trenches to bury the sides and ends in and we'll work together after that

Alanin have a look on youtube there's a good video on poly tunnels where they fix the poly sheet to wood rather than burring the sheet in the ground

to me its a better way than burring I'm going to do this method when I replace my new cover in the spring
