They certainly don't influence me, but then I'm a 'Boomer' - you know, 1 of the age group they continually moan about.....

Grow Your Own / Slugs and Snails EVERYWHERE
« Last post by Cavolo Hero on Today at 16:10 »
I have honestly never seen so many slugs and snails all over the plot as I saw this morning.
They seem especially fond of eating all my onions and lilies!  :(

Anyone else experiencing a particularly slimy year?

They have a big presence on social media and lots of people follow them i.e. sign up to be notified if they post anything.  They can make a lot of money but the measure of success is having those followers or subscribers to whatever you are twiddling on about.

Like they do for you, they blow over my head with a sonic boom, so their influence on me is immeasurably tiny

Chatting on the Plot / What defines an "Influencer"?

These so-called "Influencers" keep popping up in print and social media. They don't influence me as I've never heard of them. The latest was a woman called Zanna Lee who was in a photo on yesterdays Times front page along with a Chelsea Pensioner in an article relating to the Chelsea Flower Show. Out of curiosity, I googled the lass's name and I'm no wiser other than she has a business in beauty products.

It begs the questions such as what defines an Influencer, who decides if they fit the title, how do you become one and do they make any money out of it?

14C and pouring down since late morning. The rain is actually welcome as I sowed beans and transplanted leek seedlings yesterday

Another 75 yesterday and explored a few more places in the rain today and got 183. They really loved the clump of lupins I have, so cleared the rotting foliage from around the plants and picked lots off the plants themselves. Might even try planting some lupins as sacrificial plants to attract the slugs next year before dispatch. One at the end of each bed would be nice.

I’ll keep a close eye over the next few days as slugs will be very active in the wet weather and I’ve just planted out some tasty seedlings.

Raining steadily at the moment but heavy rain is forecast for later on. At least I don't have to go out and water mmy plants.
Same here. The trouble is I feel cold enough to put the c/heating on, despite already putting a winter cardigan on

Morning all. Many thanks for the replies. I did edit my question last night & added at the bottom
that I didn't grow potatoes there last year. Once again thanks to those who replied.

Spent a good hour trying to get me petrol tiller going today, stripped it down, cleaned etc and it just don't wanna play.
It's like a right of passage  Don't forget to pass it on to the next person so they too can experience the joy of pulling the cord for longer than they need to use it.
