joining wire weld mesh
« on: April 08, 2009, 20:06 »
Hi All,
Any one have any ideas.
my wire weld mesh arrived today 1/2 inch square and im going to be out in the rain at the weekend stapleing it on with galvanised staples. The question is whats the best way to join it along its length.I thought twists of galvanised wire would do the trick.I also thought of cable ties but have gone off the idea just because i think they would look a bit ugly(yes im anal). So any ideas maybe theres something desighned purpose made for this some sort of crimp. If there is pleeeez tell.
Thanks all Lee

Nothing new for you I'm afraid, Bob suggested Tie wraps.

I usually use galvanised wire. No problems so far for me.

Galvanised wire, just twist and cut. time consuming but does the job :)

Thinner galvanised wire can be used to 'sew' the sections together, blends in well
Playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order!

I just put it a new vertical batten to coincide with any joins and overlap both halves then staple through.

i used 60 metres of galvanised thread wire to join my lengths of wire together  yeh its time consumer but its the strongest way of doing it . but its easier with 2 pairs of hands  :D
