Blasted email problem!
« on: April 05, 2020, 12:31 »
I'm with BT and was requested to enter a new password to access my account which was duly done. Suddenly I had those boxes which swing out from the bottom-right of my PC to tell me my BT Internet settings were out-of-date.  I kept getting my email sign-in window with my name and the dotty password then found I had to delete the former password and enter my new one and yo! All seemed to go well, my emails arrived, and I could log in to this Forum instead of being logged-out for some reason. As I was just sending an email I suddenly got the same message and have not the faintest idea what's happening. Just to add, my DVD recorder is playing up because I tried taping a film the other night, went on the list as one does only to find there was no programme list beneath, AND, it's not updated to summer time like it used to do.
Answers on a swear word please!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Yes the tv has needed retuning, & I’ve had to log back in here & accept new terms etc

I finally got my email problem sorted out, but now my DVD recorder is playing up because it won't display any channels which I used to select then just had to press the record button. Methinks all that's technical has been infected with a previously unknown virus. I am not a happy bunny to say the least!

Does your DVD recorder have a 'factory reset' button (or more likely a switch which you operate with a pin or similar?)

The last act in the life of my DVD recorder was to display an error message (U61 or something like that) which according to the helpful manual meant 'unexplained error', but which actually turned out to mean 'I'm sick and tired of being a DVD recorder - please recycle me.'  :(

You should be able to get the various channels on your TV handset, Goosey!

On ours, it's the 'AV' button, then scroll down to the channel you want.

It took me some time to understand it all too...
