My Chooks Are Going To School
« on: February 23, 2007, 22:44 »
A local school's reception class is doing "The little Red Hen" and their teacher has asked me to take my chooks for the children to see.  I'm sure a lot of the children (4 and 5 year olds) will never have seen a live chicken before.

The teacher said not to worry if they Poo all over the place.  The children will love it, and that will probably be the bit they write all about

Cool, the kids will love it.

My youngest took frogspawn and tadpoles in last year and the kids were very excited about those.

Well today was the day

Gertrude and Harriet behaved well and did all the things I hoped they would do (including a few poos).  They ate sphagetti from the childrens fingers gobbled up meal worms and did not complain when all the children wanted to stroke them.

I had feared noisy 4 year old children running about and frightening the chooks.  I could not have been more wrong :!:  The children were beautifully behaved - a great credit to their teacher   :D

Well done, Gertrude and Harriet.  Well done, Auntie.

Didn't they spit out the spaghetti then when they realised it wasn't an invertebrate?
