We’re just back from a local haunt, Bradgate Park, very royal connections, given to the people of Leicestershire

So where do you go or have been that you recommend?

Cissbury Ring or Chanctonbury Ring.  At the very top of the South Downs, so quite a climb, but Iam nearly at the top anyway.  There are plaques up there saying how high it is, what you can see etc.  Mrs Bouquet

Aira Force, (Feeds into Lake Ullswater).  Get there after a torential rain storm for the best.  Make it to the top, turn right up beside the wood and look at the orchids.

Cheers,  Tony.

Both sound lovely Mrs B & Kleftie. I’ll have to check them out if I’m around your way. Actually we stopped at Aira Force one time but I wasn’t well & couldn’t do the walk, must go back but not this week as I’ve got a chest infection like that time  :(

we have just come back from spending a week at county Durham visited many places of interest but locally we also have many places of interest in Northamptonshire including Cannons Ashby Cotton manure holdenby house Cottesbrook hall and not forgetting a place very near to us Althorp home of the Spencer family and final resting place of Lady Di

most of these places are only open in the summer months and closed in the winter but there are many village walks and country lanes to walk in the winter months round here

I guessed what the song was and so watched it.  Oh, and to think I used to quite fancy him.  So old fashioned now though.   -   Now I've got the earworm   !!!!    Mrs B
