ok so ive dropped a big one here and just found my onions and shallots i bought (some how forgot about them so they are still ont planted)
am i ok to get them in now?
cant beleave i forgot about them.
also what about broad beans? i has some set in green house and have put them outside onw on dutch trolley so they should be getting hardy now but i want to set some more, when can i do this?

Shallots will be fine. I never plant mine until Feb/March anyway.
Not sure about Jap onions. They could well bolt to seed. Someone who knows what they are talking about will hopefully comment.
Broad beans are OK to plant now, either inside or directly in the soil - with this mornings deluge I cannot see us getting on to the plot for a week or two. Although early planting gives early beans several plantings can be made to give succession. Some varieties are better than others for later crops. Suttons catalogue says "Sutton" can be sown Autumn or March - July.

Totally agree.
Shallots anytime from now 'till late March.
I'd personally not bother either with the Over-wintering Jap onions now,as they won't do much in this cold weather,just plant some extra normal sets instead when you get round to planting them. :)

seams silly clogging up the forum with topics im not that interested in, ive never grown from seeds so im not worryed
