shallot flowering???

Is this the start of a shallot flowering, please??, and what are the suggestions as to what to do with it, please. Thank you. arh.

Yes, that one has bolted. You can either leave it or pull it up, it won't make any difference either way the shallot won't be much use as it will have a thick, hard core. If you leave it, you'll get a pretty flower!

Pick them and use them, minus the thick flower spike. They won't grow any more, or store, so use them in salads or stir fries.

Thank you both for those replies. Could I just break off that one which has bolted or must I pull up the whole clump of either 4 or 5 shallots. Thank you. arh.

Take out the bolted bulb, but leave the others (although of course they may also bolt, possibly because of water stress this year.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I would just snip the flower bud off so that you do not disturb the others.
