Now I know I have 6 broodies and several hens moulting (their coops look like they have had pillow fights over night) but our egg supply has rapidly gone down hill (no red mites I hasten to add). So I have gone on an egg hunt.
So far under one lorry cab I have found 7 very good eggs and in another old cab 9 very old smelly eggs - not only do they float but some just sit on top of the water. I can tell you I handled those eggs very carefully
.
Several lorry cabs to investigate to see how many more I can find - fingers crossed for some fresh eggs

oh yes, I am certainly not allowing them to hatch any more this year which is why I am intent on finding all their hiding places

Got any good patches of nettles for them to hide in? Ours used to disappear into the undergrowth when I was a wee 'un, and we hunted for ages, but rarely found them until too late..
Good hunting!

I have enough eggs, but some of those lorry cabs sound quite handy! Are you willing to share, Joyfull?
