Tilda the Rhode Island Red (10ish wks old) is my 3 year old's favorite chicken. Please, please, please tell me it's a little pullet and not another boy as she has already been named by my daughter. Fingers crossed.

Hmm...
Well for 10 weeks, she hasn't any face furnityre, whihc points towards girl. But the legs are very sturdy, which points towards boy. hackles and sickles appear rounded, so i would lean more towards girl than boy at the moment.
But I have to ask... what happened to her tail?

I'm glad you can obviously see the picture Casey because I can't, there's nothing there on my screen.

Good news so far then.
She has only been with us for a week and a half and didn't come with a tail, her tail feathers are just coming through now. She is quite very scatty which makes me wonder if she was lowest in the pecking order at her last home. Once I manage to pick her up she will sit happily now and peck treats from my hand but not when she is on the ground

When i went to pick up my roady, i went through the coop which was mixed, and at that age all the boys had red moahawks so i would guess its a girl! It looks just like mine did at that age any how

Thank you both. I hope you are right, she is very sweet. Since being pressured into getting her by my daughter I've read that RIR's are good layers so that's a bonus, none of the other breeds I have are.
