Post by: Bombus on March 15, 2015, 07:29
I want to take some chrysanthemum  cuttings but I don't have a propagator. Will they take ok without heat?

They should be fine on a windowsill indoors, with a poly bag over them. Nice gritty compost, and don't over water them  :D

Happy to say that the answer to my question is yes. I think I have had about a 90% success rate. I did the cuttings in 40 cell plug trays with a clear plastic lid. I sprayed the cuttings with chesunt compound initially, then sprayed with a fine mist of water each day. I'm well chuffed with my results, and hope this is of interest to others.
