Hi Guy's and Girls

This year I want to grow different flowers  down the allotment that I can cut and and put in a vase or two at home and have no blooming idea exuse the pun  :roll:.

Any ideas will be very greatful also any cuttings please if you have some I will be willing to pay for them of course. So far I have chrysanthamuns.

Definitely go for sunflowers.....they send out smaller flowers on the secondary stems. I have had many a great vase of these ;)

Funny you say that there is a competition between a couple of us that have no idea what we are doing down the allotment with a sunflowers  :lol:  :lol:  should be a laugh so any tips on that will be good as well

I did'nt actually!!!!.....my best one's were always the one's that were self-sown!!! They do need a fertile soil and a bit of feed but there are so many varieties around, you are bound to get some gorgeous combinations ;)

lots of sweet peas freshly cut in a vase beautiful.

And I love gladioli (sp?) beautifyl in a wide tall vase!
1 x hubby
2 x daughters
3 x chickens
1 x bunny
6 x african snails  . . . . . and counting.

You could try getting hold of The Cutting Garden by Sarah Raven - and she has lots of seeds for sale on her website suitable for cutting.

The Cutting Garden is the next book on my list - then I have got all her books!

I tried just the once to grow sunflowers and it was a disaster. I planted it up against the fence to help with the support at the bottom of the garden, :oops:  but unfortunately as the name suggests, its flowery head followed the path of the sun but only next door could see it.

My Favs are Dahlia,s Chrysanths, Stattice, Gypshophelia, sweet peas and Pinks for cut flowers. Wife loves en aswell.  :D
I used to work in a helium gas factory, but I walked out, no one talks to me like that.

mum gave me some Cosmos it was great and woudnt die (till the 1st cold snap) i cut loads of it for indoors, of course sweet peas have to be done. wow ive never given advice before :oops:
Skiprat is Gypshopelia the white flowers you get in bunches of roses etc i hope so cos ive been trying to think what that stuff is for ages?
