My breeder friend swears by it and Im thinking of buying tub.

Has anyone else used it?  If so were the results good?

min do you mean Diatom? If so this is short for Diatomaceous earth and I think you will find most of us use it - either mixed to a slurry and painted on or as a powder and either puffed into the nooks and crannies or sprinkled on  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

I bought some large bags off ebay but you can buy Hemexsan from places like Bowden and knights - same stuff but cheaper  :)

I use it painted as a slurry as I'm not happy to cause dust in the confines of a house .  Not only is it good for mites but it is very drying and helps prevent droppings sticking to teh roosts so they fall onto the collection areas underneath.

The use of DE as a dusting powder is contraversal and this is why I don't dust with it see this post.

I have found it wonderful stuff.  I only use it in the mornings once they have laid and are out of the house, remove all the food and water and as their house is basically a shed I leave the big door open all day.

I do not use it in the nest boxes - a hoover and poultry virenza works wonders - tho most people probably don't hoover their hen houses!!!
The glass is neither half empty or half full - it is simply the incorrect size! Find a new glass!
