We are about to start planting up our new allotment with raspberries and tomatoes can ayone advise on good plants and is there any difference between thmpson/sutton seeds/plants?

Asking for advice on what is a good plant is asking for trouble - everyone will have their own opinion, and it will come down to personal taste from trial & error 

As for seed supplier differences - not a lot really other than price, and quantity of seed per packet.  The bigger suppliers probably get the most business due to reputation & much bigger choice of varieties (especially if you are looking for varieties resistant to diseases), but some of the smaller (specialist) suppliers are worth looking at too.  Good old Wilkos stuff is perfectly fine for anyone starting to grow their own for the first time at a fraction of the costs - with a bit of experience under the belt, then it'll be worth venturing onto other seed suppliers with a lot more confidence

Hi and welcome, I grow my own plants from seed usually moles unless I only want a small pkt and then  I find  B&Q  own make as good as any, you can get some good plants at car boot sales for  a fraction of the price of garden centres

Try local free papers for raspberry canes,  fruit bushes etc
