flowering cherry
« on: May 09, 2012, 20:03 »
I have a lovely flowering cherry tree in my garden. I bought it about 10 years ago as a rescue from a garden centre that was closing and it has done really well - until last year. I thought it was because of the cold winter and loads of snow, but the same has happened again this year - it hasnt flowered at all. Some of the lower thinner branches (those about the thickness of a pencil and only about four or five) last year they turned brown at the ends and the leaves died. This year they havent put out any leaves at all, so i think they might need cutting off altogether. But does anyone have any idea why it isnt flowering any more? I really miss it's beautiful blossoms at this time of year and then when the petals start falling off, the pink 'rain' is a sight to behold.
