a word of caution
« on: March 26, 2009, 19:19 »
I work in the building trade and  i have been hearing that certain manufacturers of tools and equipment will be putting there prices up substantially in april eg makita 12% increase. This is just a general heads up for people thinking of buying equipment for the new season, and lets face it, it should come as no surprise with the fall in value of the pound.

I can't understand the logic of that in the present economic climate.  People are reluctant to spend and are waiting for prices to drop.  It really doesn't make sense right now to hike prices.

Its not down to the retailers its the suppliers abroad who need more pounds for there products just to maintain current profit levels. Something our great leader does not seem to have grasped as a consequence of printing monopoly money. but excuse me for getting political we tillers of the earth should not stoop to such depths  :nowink:

That was Kenneth Williams in a carry on film.  Infamy, infamy, they've all got in in for me.

There was a soothsayer in Up Pompeii that used to appear and say those lines.

you are quite right, it was a carry on film, but I thought it was Kenneth Williams that said it.

As for doomed ect, wasn't that also said by the Scottish chap on Dads army, as well as ancient Roman sages?

Private Fraser.

Kenneth Moore played Douglas Bader, so I'll run with Williams!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
