Title: who has tried duramitex?
Post by: lucylou on September 10, 2009, 23:00
hi there

Has anyone tried duramitex? they claim it is insecticide free and kills red  mites at every stage of lifecycle & has residual effectiveness thta lasts weeks. completely safe for hens not needing to be removed from the area while being applied and no egg withdrawl - has anyone tried it?

Hi at the beginning of the year I cleaned out my coop then sprayed with duramitex I have not had any red mites but that might just be good luck. :)

I got two new coups this year and sprayed both with Duramitex Plus before my birds went in them as this was quicker than poultry shield - drying time wise. Having said that it also works our more expensive (it cost me £8.95 per spray can and I got through 1.5 tins). No sign of mites (says she touching head quickly)  :)
