happy to say 3 little chicks arrived this morn so far and one pipping v happy! but they have knocked the other eggs about and the x side i put them on at day 18 to hatch, the others have knocked them over , im worried any others wont get out and suffocate, what should i do should i turn the eggs over to the x dont want to keep opening it ive got a little dutch egg in there thats been knocked to the opposite side that was moving about help pls! xxx

Congratulations on the hatch so far.

Dont panic and dont open the incubator.

Every time you open it you lose the humidity which the chicks need to help them hatch. It takes hours for the humidity to build back up.

Just wanted to check, you have got the eggs laying on its side and not pointy end up (or down)?

They will be absolutely fine and will still be able to pip and get out. If they cant get out, its not because they have been kicked about. They can also roll about themselves.

I have read (dont know how true it is) that the cheeping and movement of the ones already hatched, encourages the ones still in the shell.

hi thanks splash, i have 5 cute chicks now had 12  eggs but 3 were infertile and i think the others were as all 3 came from the same hen, so im happy one had splayed legs so i taped them up this morning, there noisy little devils tho! when there not asleep there making a din!

yes really pleased with them hope ive got some girls, the farmer will have any boys of us where we have the horses. really enjoyed doing it my inky broke today thankg god theyd hatched out before it whent!, getting another tho x

It is so addictive.

Many an hour have we laid on the floor in front of the incubator watching them hatch, and stayed up way too late
