Cordless (Li ion) leaf vacuum
« on: October 11, 2018, 16:41 »
We have a large garden and I hate shattering the peace with a petrol-operated blower/vacuum and I'd need several extension leads to use a mains one. Can anyone recommend a battery operated one please?

Just reading some of the reviews on line about the Black and Decker cordless version put me off that one. It blocks up if used on wet leaves!!!!

Oh I was waiting to hear how you both get on with these or similar as I fancy getting a cordless one so I could go across  the road & collect the leaves in the park. Anybody else got any good recommends

I'm burning up with curiosity to read about Rowland's experiences with his leaf blower/vacuum but the Black and Decker reviews certainly put me off that one. I'm meeting with a guy later today who I know bought one earlier this year, make unknown until I meet him, so I'll post his comments too

Petrol/electric vacuums will all get blocked picking up any decent number of wet leaves :(.Best way to deal with debris is to blow everything into a suitable corner. Then manually pick up and then vacuum the remainder. We have just tested a 36v Makita blower and on the highest setting it is more powerful than the stihl petrol model. Not sure on battery life?.

Yes,met his and his comments are a bit pointless as the one he bought only blows and doesn't vacuum
