We cut it down in size by 5 inch used lots of bits and bobs from around the plot recycled some tarpaulin for the roof and got a few coats of stain around it. Tomorrow if the weather is ok will tackle the fencing.
Thanks
Kris

the rhode rock sounds like a black rock - my black rock is still going strong and laying a few eggs a week and she is 5 or 6. She laid 5 eggs a week in her younger days - a very good friendly breed  :)
Not had any calder rangers but they sound very much like most egg laying hybrids that will lay well for the first couple of years but not for much after that.
Bluebelles - lovely birds and often tend to like to be the top hen. I lost mine when she reached 5 but she did still lay eggs, she laid the same amount as my blackrock.
Dont forget Kris we do want to see photos of these birds  :D

As joyfull said the Rhode Rock is the same cross as the Black Rock.  I have 4 and they are all difference characters.  From quiet to noisy and docile to Speedy Gonzales a bit like humans I suppose.

You have done all the prep now Kris so hope that you enjoy your new arrivals.  Look forward to seeing the photos.   :)

What healthy looking girls you have Kris.  Love their accommodation and is that a compost bin for shelter?  What a good idea.

Just a tip, if you can't hang their feeder and drinkers up you can stand them on a couple of bricks.  This will stop them fouling their food and water.   ;)
