Happy equinox to you and your chickens

I know I'm a day or two late, but I just wanted to wish everyone a happy equinox.  Here in the southern hemisphere we're in autumn, and in the north you're in spring, but at this time of year we share the daylight equally between us.

My chickens have been going to bed nicely at 7:30pm this week, and getting up at 7:30am. 

Obviously the seasons are much more important to chickens than to most of us, so please pass on Season's Greetings to your feathered friends.

And please look after the sunshine nicely for the next six months - we're looking forward to getting it back from you ASAP! 

You've got good chooks Lindeggs, our little 'darlings' were up at 5am today thanks to the cacophony the wild birds (obviously enjoying the beautiful dawn) were making

And happy equinox to you too - I think my girl are planning on visiting you, the way they are excavating their run!

Happy equinox to you Lindeggs.  Our clocks change this weekend and we lose an hour of sleep, but it means we suddenly get lighter evenings    Usually sends gardeners over here into a frenzy of seed sowing and planting 

My chooks are also digging like crazy.  I fell in a pothole in their run shutting them up last night
