Omlet are usually eggsellent! If you're unhappy then you should tell them so. They might refund your £25 as a goodwill gesture but they can only do that if you let them know you're unhappy  :)

I was looking at a cube the other day. They are big

Definately have a word, they are taling the mick, without a doubt. Dont be all British about it, get on that blower and tell them your chickens are living in your shed as they now have nowhere to ive as they failed to deliver on time.   I love a good phone barney....its amazing what refunds you get if you just speak up. For £25 I'd want it delivered by the Omlette MD dressed in a chicken suit!!!! Bit steep  >:(

I think you should call them as well and complain!   I also would follow it up with a letter posted to them as well telling them of your inconvience and trauma of having to figure out a solution at the last minute.

I heard they were going to try to market in the U.S..  If their customer service is like this, the American's will have a huge reaction to bad customer service!

Let us know what happens!  At least you got the cube at the old price instead of £100 increase that they started on Friday!

Sorry, that last post sounded rude. It wasnt meant to be, I was just gobsmacked that they charge so much. I had a look at their website, the cube looks an ideal piece of kit. Im just astounded that they have the cheek to charge for delivery too!
Anyway, I hope that your chooks are very happy in their new home when it finally arrives. I see that Omlet aim to deliver within 7 days. You should be able to get your carriage charge back if you complain enough.

Mary.

Yeah I know it sounds expensive but my wooden one was getting me down and that was making chicken keeping a ball ache with the constant poultry shielding and not getting anywhere as far as the mite war was going. I want my chickens to be fun again and not a burden. I just hope for the money it's as good as they say. As far as complaining is concerned I really don't have the energy to row with them about it I just want my coop!!!!!  :(

I've had a lot of dealing with Omlet over the years and they are generally very good.  Do tell them you are not satisfied with the service.  They are keen to maintain a good reputation.

Got a response from omlet they said they are waiting for a part !!!! That's fine but wish they would let me know before the delivery date at not only after I complained  :(

thats not really that fine. They should have specified sooner that a part may be late.

I would still ring them, try and get the delivery charge refunded as, well, it hasn't been delivered ^^

I think you've been more than generous and they should compensate you for the inconvenience they've caused.

What if you had ordered some chickens for this weekend, what then?

Carla - Don't I know it. I have got a company who owes me £100...which for a student is alot of money....and they just dont want to give it back.

Harrass them, SEND LETTERS TO THEM cos then they cant deny that you sent them, spesh if you keep copies and send them recorded delivery and speak to the head person/management.

Harass, Harass, Harass, spesh if your choocks are suffering

hi rachel Ive decided that I will hang on to the other coop for emergencies / quarentine / broody reasons you wouldn't want it anyway it's a nightmare. but anyway the eglu cube has Aries I've just spent 3 hours putting it up !!! the workmanship is poor and it definatly isn't worth the money but it does look quite funky I haven't tested it for leaks yet as my girls are about to go to bed but I will tomorrow. I'm not sure they will go to bed on there own tonight they seem scared of the new run and  I put their favorite warm brocoli in the run to entice them in and the just stood at the door and wouldn't go near it. I hope they get used to it is it normal when the house has changed for them to e like this ???

Yes it is. If anything hanges in my coop from spraying with anti mite to anything. they will get used to it and love it.

So you waited all this time and spent all that money and you're not impressed with it?   :( :( :(

Hopefully it will grow on you Wolverine!

I hated the thought of plastic henhouses, but I'm borrowing Joyfull's Eglu at the moment, and I must admit I am getting to quite like it!

When I retire next year,  if I end up in a place with a little garden, I'm going to get an Eglu for my 3 chickens!!!

I had to pick them up and put them in last night they weren't having any of it the kept walking round the back looking for there old coop bless them. This morning they were all still asleep that is unusual but I'm guessing it's because there is no window like on the old coop. they won't come out though !!!

Have read this topic with interest........just letting people know that I had a massive red mite problem & they lived very happily in my PLASTIC COMPOSTER!!!!!!!!!!   So good luck!!  I have persevered with my wood coops & every year the mites get easier to deal with!!!!  I would never buy an EGLU!!!!!!!  We all have our own opinions though!!!

Jackie, I always said I would never buy an Eglu too, but I've borrowed Joyfull's and have 3 araucanas in there at the moment.  It is great to clean out!  the run isn't big enough, but its only temporary accomodation and I've put the rabbit run on the end as an extension.

The araucanas love it!

and you can buy run extensions for it or do like Aunt Sally has done. She and Worzel have built a run around the eglu with a little pop hole in the run side to let the hens out into the garden when she and Worzel are there to keep an eye on things  :).

what a fantastic name I wish I was called worzel
I think the resale value of the cube makes it not such a gamble I will try it out and I see I am missing the more natural look of a wooden coop And my girlfriend has a guinea pig eglu in purple so are garden is looking very tacky at the moment. I think a one year trial. They should do woodgrain effect eglu's for people who don't want bright in your face chunks of plastic lying around the garden.
Huuuummm might suggest it

Omlet did a chocolate brown Eglu for a short while.  It looked rather nice.

My eglu is green, a very sympathetic garden colour.

Yeah mine is green to but it's not a natural green I thing dark green would be more fitting for the garden. I could always spray it or draw branches and leaves or paint like ivy on it to help camoflauge (spelling) ?? It bet it would flake off
