Use an "autmn lawn feed" (chemical). It's getting a bit late now, but should be OK for the next week or so.

I told OH, it's not a real lawn til it's got daisies in it - I got an evil glare for that one.

Super phosphate this time of year fo good root growth absolute must for a good lawn, also consider watering in some epsom salt's yellowing of leaves is some times magnesium deficiency,tho' I doubt it if the lawns laid on poor soil then it's probably an all round lack of nutrient, A good top dressing would also not go amiss.
