Does anyone know where i might get joints for framing from.

Try a plumbers outlet - trade counter will be cheaper.... you could invest in a hand-held pipe-cutter while you are there... not too dear and you could sell it on afterwards... if not a hack-saw would do the job.

I'm envious. I have enough galvanised steel pipe to put up a traditional apex bean frame (my father used it for about 40 years!) but I cold easily put some extra metal tubing to good use with a few lenghts of nylon string or old washing-line.

Ive made up my bean frame just need to string it out now.  but still have some left to carry out another task.

Did you make the bean frame Kris?

Otherwise, yes cut up it would make a good ground spikes for MDPE pipe for a cloche or tunnel, either for yourself or to donate to someone.  :) We used scaffold poles cut up in this fashion, but we have a much larger bore gas pipe as our frame.  ::)

Fruit cage - brassica cover - raspberry / blackberry frame - wide cloches for early spring crops.... and of course the bean frame..

Let us know what ideas you come up with Kris. (Not jealous at all of course  :tongue2:;)

I am thinking i might be able to make some kinda shelf type of thing for the new polytunnel when it goes up all along 1 side or part of at least.

I'd want a walk in cage for brassicas and one for my strawberries.

I'm using 4-5' scaffold tubes as the uprights for brassica and goosegog cages, with MDPE hoops sticking out of them...
