Adding cider to chutney

I have just been given several kilos of cooking apples. I thought I would make apple chutney with some of them. I want to add some cider to the chutney but I'm not sure when I would add it or how much. Has anyone added alcohol to their chutneys? Val

I don't specifically know, but this BBC recipe uses cider vinegar, don't know if that's any use?
