Yabba, you are the 'Dahlia God' I have every faith in you and your plants..........but I've got my fingers and toes crossed on your behalf!
-
If they are as good as the ones you sent me then they will be brill :D
-
you are the 'Dahlia God'
The Dahlia God is the grey haired person in the photo, I just wander round and water them ;)

How are your dahlias doing now Yabba?
It's a flower I've completely fallen in love with this year. In fact I'm half tempted to use half my veggie plot to just grow dahlias ('specially since I'm not having much luck with the veggies lol)
-
I'm glad you asked that, I've just taken a bunch more photos today :D
We've just put the covers on, quite literally ... I still stink and need to head for a bath sharpish! ... but the dahlias will motor along now ;)
One week to go!

The good news is, we did far better on our home ground ( Northwest Dahlia Society Championships ) last week .... I ran out of ink whilst Barry was telling me what we'd won :D .... but I'm still waiting for the pictures :-S
We couldn't enter the next show though, because we took our eye off the ball and all the best blooms are damaged :(
We lose the world championship crown this year as well :(

Yabba, those dahlias are breathtakingly beautiful - thanks for the photo's!

Heh, I still think we should have entered a few paper flowers and videoed the judges response :D
Thanks for the compliments, we do work hard to get to this point of the year ... that'd be the royal "we", I just bimble round and water them ;)

Well done, they are so lovely. I can only guess at how hard you must work to get such quality blooms.

This is my first year planting dahlias as I have never been drawn to them before and my first thoughts were absolutely correct. I hate them, they are long and leggy and need staking, everything in my garden eats them and all the leaves are holed like net curtains and then the blousey flowers appear - yukk
