Cocoa Shell Mulch - Warning.
« on: May 29, 2013, 10:32 »
If you have dogs please do not use cocoa shell mulch. The mulch is a by product from making chocolate and rather than being thrown away it is used as a mulch in gardens. It smells of chocolate and is very appealing to dogs.
If your dog eats any of it then please contact your vet immediately as it can lead to seizures and even death.
Staffies are softer than you think.

I only found out this morning so checked the website of one producer and yes they do mention it in their blurb but it is quite far down. Personally I think it should be in big writing on the front of the bags - not many people who use it will be aware of this  :(
