Raised bed\containers for carrots

I want to grow carrots in either raised beds or containers to avoid carrot fly. They need to be 20in or so deep. Any ideas for making a tall raised bed or suitable containers to reuse. I've seen the blue barrels before but can not find them locally.
Are you looking for an allotment (full or to share) in South East Sheffield. PM me for details.

Why not just construct a barrier 20" high around your carrots ? could be made from fleece or clear plastic

I grew mine in the bath last year, got hit by the fly, so this year back in the bath with a barrier on top. Oh before you ask why the bath, well they come ready washed

carrots (inorganic ones that is) get sprayed 7 times during their growing period so hence no holes

Presumably with chemicals not available to the allotment associations.

How do organic carrot farmers keep the fly out  :?:

they only spray when needed   the farmer has little stations dotted around the field with sticky pads(the ones you hang in your greenhouse) then every day he goes out and counts how mant carrot flys are stuck on them ,when theres so many stuck on the pad he sprays.
some old chap once told me they used to spray the carrots with diesel(diluted with water)
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
