Very bad blackfly on rhubarb
« on: July 14, 2013, 17:22 »
My poor rhubarb is smothered in blackfly!! I have used some soapy water on a baby wipe and washed them off as best as I could.

I am new to rhubarb is this a common problem?

I don't ever remember rhubarb being affected by blackfly before

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  We are getting towards the end of the rhubarb season now anyway, so either keep wiping them off, or just leave the plant alone without harvesting further.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
