Judging by the state of my head this morning, you might want to take it easy with the guava rose though !  ::)

I do cream cheese icing, or mascapone icing and butter icing with lemon or lime or orange. :D :D

You can have walnuts or pecans or coconut and raisins or not raisins ;)

I am being tempted to take up wine making too after seeing your lovely selection.   :D

The spiced apple sounds divine :)

Im back at it after a 20 year hiatus, It's so much easier than I remember (probably due to reasonable juices and access to much better information from the web).

I still remember a goodly amount going down the sink and saying never again !

I haven't had anything undrinkable yet  :D and started another 20ltrs of a different rose off last night.

I'll take any and all variation of carrot cake - Im not fussy  :tongue2: The French Deli where I used to live made really good carrot cake - but even back then it was 3.50 a slice.

Blimey, I sell a whole 1lb carrot cake for £4 and a large traybake slice for 90p but  withraisins or topping. Nuts costs extra :lol:

Hubby used to make wine when we were young and fresh faced but gave it up, cos as you said stuff ended down the sink.

Think i might have a go tho, when I next get a minute.
you are inspiring me. Pity we aren't nearer.  :D

Im far less inspiring IRL  :D

Given that we're going to end up at £4 a bottle for even cheap rubbish its worth giving a go even if you just chuck it in a chicken casserole.
 
Don't get me wrong - its no Chateauneuf-du-Pape but for 40-50p a bottle they're not bad table wines.

You have certainly got me thinking about doing it. ;)

Will have to wait until the Autumn tho' as the summer fairs are upon us and most of my time is split between cakes, preserves and gardening. Just not enough hours in the day :ohmy:
But I have a yen to make some cider;my fav tipple 8)
 
We used to belong to a wine appreciation group run by the chairman of the master  sommeliers.

I learned loads about wine  and food combinations so it would be interesting to see if any of that understanding would be of any use to me if i start the homebrew ;)

I would want something good to go in a chicken casserole. if it aint good enough to drink it aint good enough to cook with. We wouldn't want the whiff of wet dog :ohmy:

Definitely back in production here Lardman!

As you say, the juices and the things like yeast are far better these days than twenty years ago, and we've been amazed at the speed it all happens too!

Our favourite recipe is usually finished in two and half weeks, and easily drinkable at four!

The latest has just shot away, and is a rose experiment with red grape juice and apple juice with some cheapo cider etc...

Did someone mention a headache back there...?

Started 4 demi yesterday, exotic with RGJ, grapefruit/WGJ, apple/WGJ & orange/WGJ. House is warm enough at the mo so don't need the heat mat.

Is that Trashco exotic ? Checking my notes what I thought was "tropical" was actually exotic. I tried it with WGJ last time and was disappointed, but I've just racked off the PET with RJG  in and it's has a much better balance :D

Mrs G reported yesterday, that the fermenting seemed to have slowed right down, so I tested it, and it had stuck at 1.015!

Wondering why, I started to do something totally different, and just noticed the citric acid container, whch wasn't with the other stuff...

Yup, had forgotten it, so popped some in, a bit of new yeast, and back up to speed in no time!

These new yeasts are pretty damn good, especially when Growster forgets - again...

(Last time was in 1990...)
