if i put posion down for the rats will the chickens die if  they eat the rats.
they just came in this week !

I tend to use traps just incase.  If the rats get in with the chooks and die then the poison will be passed on if they eat them.

if you use eradibait they should be ok - most rats after eating the poison will however die back in their nests whilst they sleep. However it is always best to do a dead rat check to remove any you find every morning before letting you chickens out.

yes if your chickens eat the rat poison they will die rat poison stops the blood clotting so the rats bleed internally and then they die so if your birds eat the poison they will do the same
you are better putting traps down where the birds can't get to them and this is a much quicker death for the rat as well
