Hello Ive just been watching a cookery programme on telly they're cooking globe artichoke the chef took all the outer petals off,if I'm not mistaken at one time these were eaten with butter and the choke discarded an I right or wrong    jezza

You can eat GA as you describe, but many Mediterranean recipes/salads just use the hearts - nobody eats the hairy choke part though
