What weed is this

This grows every where on our allotment now ,  someone told me its chick weed and told me to just dig it in

definitely not chick weed. looks like thyme to me.

Looks like thyme to me too does it smell when the leaves are rubbed? Chickweed has white flowers & the leaves are floppy on the soil.

That's Thyme planted between paving stones, not an allotment weed - maybe wrong pic loaded?  :unsure:

My friend sent me the picture , I'll take Another this morning when I go to the Allotment like the rest off you I don't think its thyme on my allotment although its similar it's too wide spread.

Sure looks like Thyme! It will self seed very profusely and spread easily.

Also certain that is thyme.
In one of my old 1950s gardening books, it has this.
Thyme, as a creeper can be used between pathways and crazy paving, creating a carpet of colour.
Walking over it will not stunt the growth.
Best grown in semi shade or full sun.
Produces blooms of red, rose, white and purple (lavender) flowers from early Spring to Summer.
Grows to a height of one inch and spreads to two feet over the ground.

Yep I went down the allotment this morning and it's the same as the picture i was not sure because the picture was not taken on my allotment. Thyme t good job I like it , I've got plenty lol
