Accelerating spring's arrival

Emptied car, folded back rear seats and bought 20 sacks of Humax multipurpose compost today. Not the cheapest at £6 a sack provided you buy at least 6 sacks but has always given good results for me

Crumbs!  Bet your axles were complaining
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I reckoned it was no greater load than four well-built passengers, or a total of four occupants and a couple of large well-filled suitcases

But how is the soil on the plot Alan? You sound as if you are twiddling your thumbs and thinking about gardening? I'm still sodden when not frozen.

Good news about the Humax, Alan!

I spent a gorgeous morning pruning the Lord Lambourne apple trees, and also knocked the buddleia into shape...

Beans (broad) going in this weekend, so it's all ready in the starting blocks!

There's quite a large veg patch, about 20 yds x 6yds near the house. This is in great shape after years of heavy manuring and I managed to get this rough-dug all over last week. There's another patch that I also use for veg about 10 yds x 5 yds next to my polytunnel that was pasture until four years ago. This is totally water-logged and I'm just leaving this alone to dry out before I touch it.

Wife is over your side of the hill this morning at a dog competition. She just phoned me and sounded frozen to the core. It's dry and windy here and about 7C.

All the compost is for greenhouse, polytunnel and outdoor bedding containers
