Title: whats eating my strawberries
Post by: Allan-25J on October 17, 2018, 21:09
My strawberry plants are fruiting again  :) However something is making a 3 mm hole in the skin of the berry and eating the inside. I think it might be slugs as I seen a few around the bed but just want to get your suggestions. Any ideas?

Slugs or Woodlice or both .
Slug pellets will sort out both. ;)

Probably slugs, woodlice usually move in after something else has damaged the fruit. Wasn't aware slug pellets would affect woodlice.
Some of my strawberries have been producing flowers, but I pinched them out, as I feel the plants need to build reserves for next season. ( Hopefully!)
