Tomato plants - R - Us...
« on: April 11, 2014, 14:44 »
I've just finished potting on a total of seventy-two tom plants, made up from Alicante, Black Krim, Gardener's Delight, Marmande (big so and sos), and of course, Sun Gold...;0)

And I haven't a clue where they're all going, although Mrs Growster has some really good ideas..;0)

Oh Growster,  72?!  :nowink:

I have 12 and am worried I won't have space for those!

(PS Sunny, 3 of them are the black cherry you sent me - they were first to pop up!  :))

As noted in another thread, I've got about 120 of 17 different varieties. They won't all be staying with me!

However, I'm a hopeless case as I'll also be rooting any side shoots I take off!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

And you lot say I have a problem  ::)

However, I'm a hopeless case as I'll also be rooting any side shoots I take off!

Why not try some grafting with them this year DD, use the F1's as root stock and the heirlooms as scions

Now that would keep you occupied, wouldn't it, DD?   :nowink:

A really encouraging thread.  It's nice to know there are others with the same problem.  Especially if they have it worse than me.  10 Gardeners Delight, 15 tomatina (I think that's what it was)  15 Inca and 10 Big League

Didn't count just sprinkled, as of the 8th April showing their little seedling leafs were

29 - 100s & 1000s
  2 - Beef Steak
  3 - Gardeners Delight
  7 - Harbinger
  3 - Money Makers
  4 - Lizzano
  4 - Sweet Baby
  3 - Sweet Mullion

Then looking at my seed box realised I have not sowed any plum toms so some of those will go in this weekend.

Ha Ha Ha for all the replies, Folks - had to delay coming back as we'd only just realised that Bluestone 42 was on, and we'd missed every Prog...

It's 12 in the greenhouse, 15 outside the greenhouse along the side, 18 in the long area below the conservatory, which is almost a microclimate, 12 in pots in front of the widows, and the rest either given away or taken down to the patch!

It's soon 'Bruschetta Time' in a few months time, and that's where most of them go...;0)
