The latest you can sow...
« on: June 19, 2016, 12:44 »
Tomato seeds and still get a crop.  We came back from holiday to a disaster! So I'm sowing on Father's day.

Well...you never know!

Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Why not pick up some plants from the garden centre? Aldi had some good tomato plants for sale on Thursday.

To keep the cost down you only need one of each variety - plant on the side shoots and they'll only be a little way behind the parents.

I was going to say do you know anyone else growing toms, who would give you some sideshoot. They'd be faster to fruiting stage than seeds.

Two good points to consider.  The couple of garden centres we went to were all out of tom's.  I'll the Aldi/Lidl.

Cheers and thanks Tony.

How do you root the sideshoots?  I have stuck some in compost, with my fingers crossed.

That's all you need to do. Keep them watered.
