At what age can chicks go outside full time?

Can you offer any advice as to when chicks can go outside full time - obviously with hut and run!

They are currently, at 31/2 weeks, outside all day if it isn't raining and in the house at night.
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!

I put mine out when they had been off heat for 4 days.  They were 5 weeks old (it was nice sunny weather outside, and about 21C during the day and 15-17C at night.

In my books it says five weeks till they are old enough to be of the heat.  This means they should be at least 5 weeks old and "off the heat" before you should put them outside in a covered run.

Why covered?  Because believe it or not crows will take chicks.

If not with their mum then 5 weeks old minimum. If they are to go with older hens outside then keep them in a seperate run but in full view of the others until they are of a size to be able to stand up for themselves.
Staffies are softer than you think.
