Having seen the extortinate prices for Hydrangeas (£15 in Homebase), courgette plants (£1.49 in garden centre) Toms (£1.99 or 99p), Lavenders (£3.99). Why not let the kiddies "grow" and sell excess produce at local tabletop sales. Can I be GOT this way by the taxman?

Yes , I know Bath is expensive, but there are plenty of born & breds that begrudge the likes of our money supporting the "stars".  Surely though Homebase prices are nationwide, not upped for the "posh" areas.  The big question is though, if I let my daughter sell the stuff, can she claim it as pocket money as she's below the tax threshold (I'll then charge her mega bucks for board and lodgings - hee hee)
