This old composter (well I think it is) is my freecycle find

I had one of those composters left on a plot I took over, and only thought of using the holes to weave bailer twine through and tie it to something stable as it kept falling over if filled with compost.

I push the slats into the soil it was sitting on then filled it, otherwise I think mine would of done the same.

I have to say that I'm really impressed with the Liverpool freecycle. I've offered and got lots of things - especially demijohns! :D

They've set up a Liverpool and Wirral freecycle cafe now so people can exchange ideas and ask advice.

I have had a wheel barow and some chicken wire from ours. but I am amazed how greedy some people are and what they are asking for. Cars, caravans, laptop 100 slabs and one person wanted there whole furnishing. They asked for absolutely everything. Spoils if for other people

was it used cooking oil from a chippie? This would be refined for use as a biodiesel fuel! one of the chaps here at work does it. Only trouble is his car stinks like a fish and chip shop

I joined the local freecycle group only yesterday having discovered it through this forum. I've already managed to get a load of materials (wood and the like) for a variety of projects, and a compost bin. I couldn't quite believe it. However, sorting through the emails is taking a lot of time!
Amazing community, very handy indeed. I've offered up some of the unwanted stuff I had laying around thats just too good to dump.
