URGENT HATCHING HELP NEEDED

This is more entertaining than Eastenders (not that I watch it!).

Mum can't cope with looking after kids anymore so leaves them.  Kids are rescued but only just at the last minute with the threat of death edging ever closer.  What a cliff hanger.

Mum is persuaded back to look after kids.  Kids live happily ever after.  (well hopefully!)

Phew!

BABE!!! Thats my little silkie chick?? I'd bet 70% thats a girl as well  - has it got clear line round the back of its head where the bump on top ends? (I have a bumpy head theory - I've ringed our chicklets to see how accurate it proves to be)!! Wooo Hoooo!!
I'm sorry you only got one little chicky from our eggs though - if you want some more you know where we are!! Its odd how it goes - we just got only three chicks from 12 eggs on last hatch under broody hen.

yes thats your silkie mdueal, and aint she purty :D popcorn abandoned them , so poor little fraggle ended up with 12 eggs, and she's only a teeny bantam.

she seems so little against the others, but is getting on well with them all.

will keep you and foxy updated with your chicks pics  :D

The lady we got our first silkie chicks from told us about it - the ones with pronounced bumps are girls and smooth heads are boys - obviously there is some in between variation where you cant really tell. It has worked out for us so far with all our silkie chicks.
Not sure about polands though as have never raised them. Our sultan hen had big bumpy head when she was a chick but don't know if they all would due to both sexes ending up with crest??
