Hi, not a silly question, but POL from this year shouldn't moult no :)
We have 17 chickens, 3 quail, 2 dogs, 3 cats and that's enough (for this week)

Not normally their first year, generally speaking.
If they are young ie around 14/15 weeks old, you may see them moulting into their final adult plumage, youngsters moult several times from chick to adulthood and these  moults are more of a subtle moulting process. Some youngsters have a "partial" moult which tends to be around the neck area, this type of partial moult can also be triggered through shock.
If they are in a full moult, feathers everywhere and lots of "pin" or new feathers evident, a little poultry spice will have provide the essential minerals, watch out on the treat front as titbits wont help feathers re-grow! ;)
