How deep to pot cucumbers.

I'm just about to re-pot my indoor cucumber plants. Is it ok to plant them a lot deeper than they are at the moment? I remember reading a topic about planting tomatoes deeper, as they then grow roots from the stem. Is the same thing true about cucumbers?

the stems on cucurbits are quite soft, fleshy and delicate - so planting them deeply might rot them.

mine are outdoors already on a deep bed of muck - in flower and looking good.

splodger has it dead right. Came up on another thread only today. Transplant all cucurbits at original depth - best to prevent them getting leggy in the first place

Thanks for the replies they are not leggy, but I thought they might have grown a stronger root system. Will now just plant at normal depth.
